Avid Elixir mountings

Hey, i'm upgrading the disc brakes on my anthem as the shimano m445's on it are aren't very powerful and they fade to nothing during any long downhill sections.
I'm thinking of buying a pair of these http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/MTB++Parts/Brakes/Disc+Brakes/Sram++Avid+Disc+Brakes/Avid+Elixir+5+Disc+Brake+Set+-+Front++Rear+-+HS1+Rotors_2012-ELIXIR5.htm
My question is though, I have post mount's front and rear and only the front one in the set is post mount. Does anyone know if the set comes with an adaptor or do i need too buy one separately, like this one? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=1503
Or should i just screw it and buy a set of the new slx brakes which come with post mount's and seem to have rave reviews for £30 more?
Thanks,

the Avids are post mount. as are the shimanos.
you need to get the correct adaptors for both."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks for the reply, so am i correct in thinking that if they are both post mounts and i have post mounts front and rear then i don't need any adaptors?0

Depends on the size of the rotors.I don't do smileys.

and the post mount sizes.
have a read of the topics in the FAQs."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I am looking to do the exact same to my Trance, bought the elixir 5's yesterday but have the same problem as you... my shimano rotors are 180/160 both post mount but the elixirs are 185/185 post mount.
SOLUTION ..... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=13717
This does say Front but it will also fit in the rear, it basically lifts the caliper the needed distance (15mm) from the direct mount post so it will fit on the back and the front.

^^^^^^^^^ the post mount adapter will lift the caliper 15mm from 160 mm to fit the 185mm rotors.
Hope this has helped!!0 -
FYI, had a similar question when ordering some X0s (basically variation on Elixirs) and wondered about buying adapters. No worries as the boxes came with everything I needed.
i.e. both came with IS mounts attached to callipers in the relevant size for the disc ordered and the front came with a Post mount in addition. Don't know if that's standard, but that's what I got from BikeTart (good deal too on the X0).
Though in your case, if you've got Post on rear also then assuming the frame is 160 and the rear disc is 160, then you just bolt straight on without an adapter. Anything else and you'll need an adapter.
If you're changing one set for another of the same size then you'd have all the right mounts already anyway I'd assume, so just a case of bolting on the callipers.0
