So I've started commuting once again > back into the life-long habbit.

First time commuting on my single speed though, which has a reasonably aggressively low front end.

Noticed that the inside of my fore arms (you know, the bit that stretches when you pull your hand back) is very stiff.

Surprising. I've ridden a lot on this bike sans commuting stuff and not had it.

I wonder why it is > presumably something to do with the bars combined with extra heft on my back.

* OK, reading this I've realised it's only interesting to me...

Subconciously your hands keep stretching for gears. This is causing the ache.

More stoppy-starty commuting = more pulling on the bars as you pull away from lights

So your boss is finally OK with you not arriving at work suited and booted up? Excellent!

Yeah, I argued that if I'm not meeting anyone it shouldn't be a problem, and he agreed.

Should be able to do it 3 times a week or so.

Alright but I PT'd it Monday and today.

I cycled a good 50km Saturday and again on Sunday without a problem - wasn't noticeable on Friday's commute either.

It was just a little odd. I've been riding on road bikes since I was 16, and commuting by bike for as long as I can remember - (this year's hiatus being the exception).
