Chain snapping :(

Hey guys just wondering what might have caused my chain to keep snapping, I have a Fuel ex8 with a shimano chain set, I took it out to the chase did 15 miles on it and it snapped 4 times in differnt places not sure what would cause that any one had this before? Ive orderd a KMC chain now yet to fit it tho

What was the original chain, and how old?0

Not sure on the model of the chain it was a standard shimano one that came with the bike, The bike is only a month old so brand new really0

Did they all fail in the same way?
As long as not putting excess pressure on when changing gear, then sounds like was faulty.0 -
Yep its like the pins came lose then the 2 outer edges of the chain bent away then just pulled apart, didnt put much pressure on it snapped 2 time when i was on a straight going steady one when i was going down hill then 1 as i went uphill

Take it back to the shop for them to take a look0

I had a chain keep snapping on my commuter bike. Ended up with a nice chainring scar on my shin and a nole in the pavement (pig iron fork). I just replaced the cassette, chain and centre chainring(unless the outer and inner rings are both worn).
Not had a problem since.Big guy; small air!0 -
Huuummmm Well i have my new chain now will be fitting it tomorrow for a ride out sunday fingers crossed
