fizik gobi wearing out!

Hi, a Fizik Gobi came as standard on my Whyte back in Feb this year (11).
Issue is that it is wearing out on both sides about 2 inches from the front of the saddle.
Is this my: Saddle/riding position? riding shorts (Fox mostly), a Fault with the Fizik or my massively muscular thighs . . ?
Anyone else had similar experience?
cheers

Got one as standard on my orange.
Wearing out in exactly the same place, the bikes only done around 50 miles.
Couldn't help think it was a bit rubbish for a reasonably expensive one.0 -
I had one on my Trance. Lasted about 4-5 months. They are not well made considering the priceTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Any recommendations for a saddle thats pretty much the same to sit on but lasts a bit longer, then?0

WTB Rocket race, very comfy and hard wearing saddle, plus it's not overly expensive either
Useless fact: Rocket race is the saddle used by Steve Peat over the years0 -
Wow - I have the same problem - I wonder if it's worth asking for a replacement...?
It was not cheap, I think it's caused when you ride in a seated position and your thigh brushes against the side on the upstoke (oooh err missus).0 -
Yep. Mine too on the Whyte.
The Canyon's got a Selle Italia on it and that feels pretty much the same to ride but hasn't worn - yet.Canyon Nerve XC 8.0 20110 -

Thanks Raymondavalon and delcol. I have to say, my Gobi seems not to be wearing out. But it's totally the wrong colour for my new frame, so I kind of hope it does!0

Same thing happened to me, after a few months the sides peeled back. Haven't had this problem with any other saddle before so wont be buying another Fizik, waste of money!!0

Just as an update to my mail back in November, I sent a couple of photos of the saddle and the serial/batch no to Fizik and they sent me a new one.
No grief or delay.
Good recovery, thanks Fizik.0 -

That's your personal opinion. I swapped my Charge spoon for Gobi and found it much comfier on longer rides and have had Gobi's on both bikes for a couple of years now with no issue. Everyone's different!0
