Quality brake (not break) cables

Looking at removing the cross top levers from my CX bike to give more room on the bars. My bike runs Avid BB7's and I understand it is worth installing quality cables (no flex/compression?).

Any suggestions? TIA.

  • Jagwire. That is all.

Edit: Apparently that wasn't all. Get some proper cable cutters if you don't have them, it makes a hell of a difference. I use the Pedro's ones, like a hot knife through butter.

I use Gore Professional cables. Expensive, but excellent at keeping the crud out and non-compressible.

Always used Jagwire, always been great. So unfortunately whilst I know that Jagwire stuff is very good I have no comparitive data whatsoever. :?

  • Jagwire it is then, unless I find Gore with 75% discount!

    Thank you.
  • Oh, and for extra credit, I recommend Transfil Black Snake inners and a squirt of GT85 down the outers before you put them in.

I got fed up with the jagwire outers failing.

Nothing wrong with any quality stainless set up.
