I am tempted to do this route now that they will include markers. I dont have a garmin but a map and my phone GPS should suffice if I get lost.

Does anybody know the route and if they send you over any pretty bad surfaces as in the Le Terrier? As much as I loved the event I do not relish cycling my good bike over rutted farm tracks again even if it is a small part of the whole route.

Is that the sort of terrain the Terrier involved? I had thought of riding that route on my own, but not sure about it if its an off road expedition!
  • I've ridden it. No farm tracks or anything like that. One or two sections where it'd be nice if the council did some work, but on the whole the roads, for this day and age, are OK. Several dodgy cattle grids have just been replaced (the Trough road and Waddington Fell).

Thanks rick for the info. This one looks good but reckon the last 60odd miles will be tough.

  • There are some toughies in the last 60 miles, but mostly the last 60 miles is tough because it's the last 60 miles! At least for me the last 60 miles was only 60 miles plus 10 yards to a beer!!

    Signed up!

See the website and facebook page for a few more details (including some lovely description of the ascents!)

Think I might have to reconfigure my gear ratios and get myself to the Brecons for training!
