Hi all I have a problem with my right arm and use my left arm most of the time I have sorted my gears out over on to the left but I could do with sorting the brakes as I can only pull the back brake not the front is there any kind of dual hydralic brake leaver that I can fit to get some kind of 70-30 60-40 split.

Thanks

Have you tried mounting both brake levers on the same side of the bars? Sounds mad I know, but apparently works quite well. Have a look at this: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic ... h-one-hand

Alternatively, try one of these: http://www.trialtech.co.uk/product.php?product_id=89
Unfortunately (or luckily as you didn't mention which brakes you have!) they use Magura fittings which may or may not be compatible with your brakes. That'll give a 50/50 split in braking performance, going for a 60/40etc is a tad more complicated.

Also, a company called Hygia (?) make the Multi brakes: http://www.hygia.com.tw/liveshop/index. ... duct_id=82

They come with one lever, a splitter and two calipers, essentially a split single lever system. It's designed for tricycles and recumbent bikes, but should work on a standard two wheeler as you can specify the hose lengths. No idea how good they are though!

  • Thanks for the help on this one, with the help of a mate we have managed to cram it all on the lift hand bar its a bit cramped but I will just have to see how it goes hopefully I may not fall of quit as much due to the rear end locking up there again I may well still fall off its still hard to hold the bar on the right.

    Thanks again

    have a read of this.

    viewtopic.php?f=10004&t=12777757&p=16949997&hilit=one+hand#p16949997

can be done with most brakes that have a removable rear plate. braking force can be adjusted via the reach adjuster just like a balance box on a race car.

    also nowin the FAQs.

contact hope i remeber reading an article in a mag i think it was what mtb were a guy from hope had both his brakes controlled off of one lever... they had made a thing(technical name) that had one hose going it to it from the brake lever and two hoses coming out front and rear brake.. it was set up to put slightly more power to the front brake than the rear.....
