As long as the tape is stuck on then just bung in your valves fit tyres with sealant and away you go.
  • I have just swopped mine to tubeless with tubeless ready rims, (wasn't the same rims). There wasn't any tape present but seemed sealed so just installed the presta valve, inflated and all good. Had to put a little Stans around the valve as started leaking slightly on installation. But all going well so far. Good luck

I thought DT swiss rims where not sealed and needed a special tubeless rim tape (not normal rim tape) to convert the rims to be tubeless?

It may work with normal rim tape as it may provide adequate sealing but if you are trying for ages with no results this may be the cause of it. I'd give it a quick try to see if it will work but wouldn't bother spending much time getting it to work unless I had the proper kit.
  • ok thanks for replies
