Stans flows - White or black?

Decided on some stans flows as they seem the best wheel weight wise and strength with the option of going tubeless, plus my current rims Mavic ex823's DT 240's are well overkill for what i use the bike for.

The white flows which are powdercoated are 40g heavier per wheel than the black.

Im going for red hubs but undecided on rim colour ?...Does anyone run white rims ? and how do they hold up with them being white.

Black: http://www.moonglu.com/shop/hope-hoops- ... flow-rims/

This is the bike

Was looking all over for a s-works with the white rims but couldn't find anything but did find this on youtube

Whats everyones opinions? ...Things putting me off white are how well they'll hold up over time + the added 80g over the black.

Thanks

  • I'd go for white as they are faster ;)

I have had a white Flow on the front of Inbred 1 for 12 months now and it still comes up like new when I clean it.

White wheels go well with baskets, and flowers.

If you're 12 years old then white rims and red hubs probably look ok, otherwise go for the black ones since they're lighter and obviously look better.

Cooldad, you seem to have an obsession with the colour pink.

Its ok, you don't need to be embarassed about the fact you like the colour pink. It doesnt mean you're gay or anything like that (unless you think like one of those "adults" that hasnt fully developed yet, and still has the mental age of a 12 year old)

That's very kind of you. So kind I won't mention your PM asking for a pic of my obvious.

Oh damn you, you've gone and mentioned it!

But a picture of a man with a cock on his head is not something I get to see everyday.

I think the forum censor spoiled the effect of your comment, somehow.

well i went for black as i didnt think white would go with a black frame. heres a pic sam hills 2010 world champ bike, tho i think its just because all black forks go well with white rims and spokes. Sam-Hill-Specialized-2010-World-Championship-Bike-2.jpg but definitely go for full white.
  • My white dtswiss wheels have stayed white. And I've only actually cleaned them with a brush once

White will look cool on your bike. BUt probably needs white spokes too.
