Recommend a PS3 game

So, I need something to put on the Christmas/Winterval list.

A PS3 game is a good idea, I've got GT5 (boring), PESsomething (crap), Red Dead Redemption (good) and MW2 (good).

Red Dead and MW2 are obviously very different, but I've played those the most and enjoyed them. RDR for the massive open gameplay and storyline, MW2 for the potential to shoot people in the face.

From what I see, the choices for a decent game are:
MW3
Battlefield 3
Assassins Creed: Revelations
Uncharted 3
or Skyrim, whatever that is.

Go on interwebs, recommend!

  • Well, I voted for Assassins. but both that and Skyrim are on my Christmas list.

Skyrim comes from Bethesda apparently, and they are the same ones who did Fallout: New Vegas which is possibly the best game I've ever played, followed VERY closely by Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. I'd therefore say that either of those would be a good bet (hence the reason they're both on my own christmas list).

Not a fan of the MW type games personally.
  • I got MW3 and although it is very good, its not all that different to MW2. Hence i am going for Battlefield 3 for my Xmas list. I also read that the new Batman game was meant to be excellent so that could also be a possibility.

blitz jr is playing Skyrim at the moment it looks like a proppa yawn-fest tbh but the battles are reasonable. It's probably ok if you liked Elder Scrolls an' all that but otherwise a bit too much 'Magic Sword Of Gryxthyx'

The characters have American accents lol

Wait til you get to the part where you have to kill the ambassador's chef so you can put some poison in his food. BBC Four is more interesting.

I voted Assassins Creed Revalations as the first 2 games were great. Infact you get a copy of the first game with it and also get discount codes for AC2 and AC Brotherhood.

I'm also hoping to get this for xmas or the new Batman game as the first one was also very good.

I could do with some more friends on PS3 my ID is supersonic46

Andy46: have you seen the Ps3/Xbox username thread? at the top of The Hub I think.

And as for MW2=MW3, that's exactly what I thought about Black Ops, which is why I didn't bother getting it. I think AC might be the one to go for.

Portal is a real head twisting puzzle game, deffo worth checking out. See if you can track down a demo. Done by the people who made Half Life.

    new Batman game is epic

just finished the story last night and its very good

some reviewers questioned whether it was any better than the 1st one, but IMO its story is far more expansive

gameplay very similar, but more ways to kick ass Batman-style

You probably better watch an episode of friends or perhaps just google a youtube video of some yanks, you might then realise that it isnt an american accent, think more like Arnie...

Since when? I've had it on the PC since release, infact its a laptop with i5 2.4ghz and a Geforce 435M so nothing special and it runs on maximum settings perfect with awesome frame rate.

Anyway Skyrim is good game, can be a bit boring at times with all the travelling but other than that as a single player you certainly get your moneys worth, if it was a MMORPG I think it would be freaking awesome game personally.

MW3 is same ole same ole, its MW2 rehashed with a few extras from black ops and new maps, still looks fun but its a bit cheeky having to buy a whole new game for a few updated bits n peices I think.

BF3, now this game is awesome (its my first BF game played) I much prefer it to MW3 style which is far more arcade like than BF3. BF3 can be a lot more tactical, realistic to an extent and certainly a good change of scenery to MW3 imo.
