Smilies don't appear to work

Hi Lads,

Tried a few times now and trying to add a smilie doesn't seem to work.

I'm using Firefox 8.0 with Windows 7

Works on FF7 too for me. When you say 'add a smily', do you mean clicking on the smilies on the right of the text area doesn't work?
  • nicklousenicklouse Posts: 50,675 Lives Here
yep clicking on a smilie on the right just makes the screen move. no smilie added. :( but using
    :(

    does

Sorry for the late reply, yep when I click the smilie on the right it doesn't put it into the post.

    +2.

Can't believe this can't be fixed if someone puts their mind to it.

Are you actually doing anything about this Mods??? Or are you just making another cup of coffee ;)

At least give us an update or something. No point in having something there if it doesn't work!!

It's on our list - hopefully we'll get round to it next week or the week after.

Another problem which might have a related cause - clicking on the upload attachment tab just makes my page jump to the bottom, similar to the way clicking on a smiley makes it jump to the top :-(

this all seems to be tied into the opening links in a new window.

turn it off and smilies work.

That's OK Nick, but then we are back to the problem of opening links in a New Window, can we not just resolve the problem?

So they do: which means we now have a choice of two behaviours that we want, but we can have only one of them and not the other. Genius.

    AAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!

I tried to concentrate, I really did.

But that's now three times in about 5 minutes I've followed an external link and then closed the tab, thus losing the thread I was browsing.

CAN YOU PLEASE FIX THIS RIDICULOUS ISSUE? :( :?  :!: :!: :!: :|

but now the people who do these things can sort it.

see the other thread should be good next week.
