Looking to go from triple to double and bash but my pitch pro has a direct mount front mech, looking through CRC the options for front mechs are not very clear. How much wriggle room do i have with chainring sizes? i wanted to try maybe 22t and 36t or 38t, but the mechs are listed as 42t with 18 total capacity how do i size for a double?

Cheers

On my Reign I use my standard mech with the low/high screws adjusted to suit the double, works fine.

you use your existing mech. But as it is a Direct mount you may not be able to use the sizes you want as you can not move the mech much in a vertical direction.

  • So there is no need to try to get the mech low to the outer ring? as long as it clears the bash ?

if you were going to keep the same rings all you would do is adjust the outer stop.

but as you plan a bigger "middle" ring the mech will need adjusting. which way depends on how you go about the set up.
