10 speed rear mech on a nine speed cassette?

Hi, can you use a 10 speed shimano rear mech on a 9 speed cassette ?
It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.

The mech has no idea how many gears you have. It is the shifter and cassette that decide this. The only potential probem is the chain may rub on the cage on extreme cross over gears but this is unlikely.ilsassocycling wrote:You can line it up so you can get either top or bottom :-)0
