I thought I'd seen this in the FAQ but can't find it... Oro manual not all that helpful either. So...

Basically, I have a set of spare K24s and a set of K18s, and I'm wanting to take the nice-condition K18s and add the FCS from the fairly worn out K24s. It looks very simple, from the exploded diagrams- just a case of removing the "stop piston kit" and then adding the FCS bits in the same place. Really all there is to it?

basically yes. just a straight swap of parts.

as long as they were not the last version of the 24s as they used stuff from the Megas/Ones Mk1
