Hi all,
Ride mainly cross-country - south downs way etc and some surrey hills singletrack
Need to upgrade / replace current Deore brake set....am looking either Formula Oro's K18 or Elixir 5's
Would appreciate thoughts - am drawn to the Formula's...however elixir's are a little cheaper...looking for some
quality stopping power, I weigh about 90kgs if that makes a difference
Cheers

Sorry - not full Deore.............brakes made up from BL-M485 levers with deore calipers, one new BR -M596 caliper on the front and an older deore caliper on the back.............all set-up and bled - not contaminated ( not saying I'm an amazing mechanic, but I do have a reasonable level of knowledge and aptitude) and I just can't get a performance that I'm happy with....ie will not lock wheels unless at very low speed, and lever feel is poor..........not sure if its a mis-match between components, though all shimano so should ?? be ok ? or what the problem is. In fairness the brakes on my road bike haul me up faster sometimes. I don't want to change for any other reason than I want quality stoppers that will actually stop me ! If there is something I'm missing in the current set-up..then fantastix - lets sort that, however I can't work out the problem0
