I'm thinking of getting these for the car.Does anyone know if they work with bikes which have downtube routed cabling.

No problem, wrapping some helicopter tape where the bike rack clamps the downtube will prevent scratching.

I have this one and its great! :-) The clamp part has rubber protection and I've never had any scratches :-D

Keeps the bike very secure and i even forget its on now and again :-O

i have one and is very good and secure, better than halfords ones..

One suggestion, make sure you "pad" the downtube with padding so that the cables dont rub onto the frame which they can quite badly.

I use some Old Yoga mat foam which works well under the cables between them and frame:)
