Here we go all

Has anyone any experience of Cube frame sizing I've been to a few places and seen a few bikes and the one theat has tickled my fancy so to speak is the Cube Agree, I'm told today that Cube frames come up small compared to other manufacturers, at 5'11" I was quoted 56cm or there abouts but 58cm for Cube.

Stand over height seems ok I have about 1.5 to 2 inches between me tender bits and the top tube and just sitting on it in the shop it seems comfortable (I am going to see if I can arrange a test ride somewhere).

I suppose the question is are Cube bikes indeed sized a little small or am I being sold a kipper so to speak

Cheers

  • Yes, I would say that the Cube frames do come up slightly smaller. I have a Cube Agree GTC pro, size 56 and I`m 5`9" with a 29.5" inside leg and it fits me perfectly. A size 56 frame of most of the other leading bike manufacturers would be way too big for me!!

I looked at this today! Very nice.. Im 5'11" and they recommended a 58cm. Going back monday to try one out. Nothing but positive reviews online.. Germans really know their stuff in terms of design + build!
  • I've just bought a Cube Streamer as my winter bike. 53cm frame is a lot smaller than my BeOne carbon bike. The Cube is really compact but goes really well & looks amazing. Too good really as a winter bike but saying I needed a winter bike was the only way I could get my girlfriend to agree to me buying another bike!

    thanks fellas

At least I know the chap in the shop isn't talking out of his hat so I'll go back and arrange a test ride if I can

How about Leisure lakes has any one any experience of them??

I'm 5'10" and have a 58 Agree GTC Pro. Initially it felt slightly small compared to my 56 Giant but I'm now used to it and think it's a great bike.
I got it from LeisureLakes bikes in Cheltenham and was impressed with them. I took it back recently for them to sort out a creak on it which was bugging me, they spent a good few hours on it, test riding it a few times, until it was sorted, now it's quiet as a mouse and a pleasure to ride.
  • My Cube GTC Agree Race is a 58cm and my Specialized Allez Elite is a 56cm frame.
    6ft tall, 31" inside leg.
  • I have a Cube Atempt 58", i'm 5'11" with a 31" inside leg. Initially i thought it was too big, but it was my first road bike for many years and i'd been riding mtb's for a long time. Now it feels perfect.
  • I agree with the options and other opinions - Cubes are small compared to the quoted size - sounds like you've been offered the right bike.

I'm 6' and riding a 58cm, which has a 56cm top tube. The 58 was recommended but a couple of shops and backed up by checking the geometry on the Cube site against the suggestions from the Competitive Cyclist sizing guide.

Fit is great, I swapped the stem for a 110mm to fine tune the fit. Cube Agree Pro - fantastic bike for the money. Fast, light and well specced.

You need to ride some first, but they do come up smaller.
Mate has GTC and he is usually a 54 but has a 56cm cube.
So the theme is to plan for one size up I guess, good luck they are nice bikes ;)

  • Same height as yourself and got a 58cm Cube Agree SL. Fits me fine, considering getting a slightly shorter stem but that's just fine tuning, 56cm would be too small for me. Lovely bikes have yet to come across a bad review

I have a 60cm cube attempt and i'm 6ft 1.... if that helps at all?

  • I think bikes should adopt a universal sizing policy. I have a 58cm specialised sectaur and a 58 cube agree gtc pro. Although the cube quote it as a 58cm the top tube is 56 and it actually states this on the downtube in front of the rear wheel. Why not just call it a 56? As it happens I actually prefer the size of my cube, always felt the Spesh was a little on the large side for me (circa 6ft) but then it does have a slightly longer stem and wider bars. Love the cube although the wheels are a bit fragile, it rides really well and effortlessly gets up to speed.
  • Ride a 58 Cube Attempt.. Im 5"11 32in leg seems to be the right fit..

  • A friend of mine is 5'11 and bought a 58" Cube Agree. When he told me I thought he'd bought the wrong size of frame. Anyway - it fitted him absolutely perfectly but as he increased the mileage he began to get pains in his wrist. He then purchased a slightly shorter stem and has never had a problem since.
I've since read on C+ that Cube frames are definitely shorter and that you need to go up a size.
Here's a link showing the Geometry of the Cube Agree.

I'm 5'9 and ride a 51" compact frame with a 54" Virtual Top Tube, from the Geometry you can see that I would probably be best with a 56" Cube frame....... It's getting complicated to get the right sized bike!!!

Just to add to this in case anyone matches my sizing and finds this thread. I have a Cube Agree GTC Race 2011 I am 5ft 10 with a 29inch inside left and the 58 fits me perfectly.

The most important dimension to look at is the effective top tube.
I can't work out Cube sizing, I have a 56 and no dimension on it is actually 56cm, it is the equivalent of a 53 in most other brands

My Cube is a 56 and my Giant is a 50, yet the effective top tubes are within something like 5mm of eachother!
