COD Modern Warfare 3

So has anyone bought it yet? What's your first impressions?
I bought it yesterday for the PS3 and mainly for the online play for which they seemed to still be having some teething problems with me being kicked out of the games with server disconnection problems. I only played an hour or so before getting a bit frustrated and giving the single player mode a go which seems excellent. To be honest, I thought the Black Ops single play was fantastic but the detail on this game seems another step up.
I am just about to give the multiplayer another go and even if the server still isn't working properly I will blame this issue for being destryed by a bunch of 12 year olds
If anyone wants to join me and increase their Death/Kill Ratio my PSN name is bubbazanetty

Felt pretty much the same as the previous MW to me. Played it for about an hour, then went to lectures, haven't bothered since getting back. Will play more around exam time probably! You live and learn. At any rate, you live0

I noticed you'dbeen playing a bit
Campaign mode is fantastic !! ut gets VERY busy !! I had a go at the Special Ops - Survival mode, which is a bit like Zombie, but endless waves of men with guns coming at you. You earn cash as you play and get to upgrade your weapons. All good fun !
I noticed that the online play and connection appeared to be a bit glitchy, but I put it down to evern man and his dog playing last night, as it was laungh day.
Great game so far though !!Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

I think its cracking - have an xbox and dont want to start a ps3 vs xbox debate but had no issues with xbox live, had a geek day yesterday and took a day off to throw myself into it, no issues all day.
There isn't much difference in play to MW2 but the levels seem better balanced and more than anything the respawning is miles better, not been spawn trapped yet and it feels right, you get back in the action quickly but with time to be ready.0 -
Got the game yesterday as was very pleased with the campaign mode, however the online experience was the worst that i have ever encountered on xbox live.......and that's saying something.Cervelo S5 Ultegra Di2.0

I'm waiting, as I did with BBC2 and Black Ops, for it to come out cheap at Tesco...
By then all the online furore dies down and you can play to your lag-hating hearts content.
However, I think I'll be getting Skyrim...Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

I get really frustrated at this time of year, so many great games. Especially after the spring/summer drought. Just don't have the time to play everything, currently playing Batman which is immense. Going to finish that then maybe move onto COD or Skyrim. Both are life stealers!mr_poll wrote:I think its cracking - have an xbox and dont want to start a ps3 vs xbox debate but...
Love both consoles but I personally prefer playing online on the Xbox although the PSN store is better0 -
Worst CoD yet IMO, and beating Lag Ops was no easy feat for that!
Awful maps, no dedicated servers still, quick scoping is to easy and there is no use for conventional sniping as line of sights are too short, levelling up and getting pro perks is too easy.
Just another game where they cater for the noobs.
BF3 is infinitely better and Skyrim will also blow it out the water!
On a related note:
FS: CoD MW3 - The latest release from IW and Activision. Fantastic game. Well worth the money...0 -
aye i got it the night it came out (queued up at Sainsbury's with all the other geeks n nerds)
on-line it plays much like MW2
game play seems buggy though I get getting stuck on obstacles that I was no where near
aint tried it on PS3 as im on 360

Black Ops is a different franchise - written by different programmers - and I agree it is fairly poor.
Disagree with the maps - but guess that's on your way of playing - I hate snipers and sniping so I am glad about shorter line of sight. The MW series has always been about arcade game play - rush and kill. I like the BW series and they are more tactical, sniping and out-flanking - different games, pays your money and takes your choice.
Skyrim does look excellent however think i will have to give over a large slice of my life to it - prefer the pick up and play element of FPS.0 -

Agree, I hated Black Ops, kept if for about a week then sold it on ebay for more than I purchased it... love ebay economics :?
Treyarch had a great single player campaign with world at war, online was okay but couldn't get away with the weapons. Not fussed about zombies kind of had overkill with them. Prefer spec ops mode of modern warfare.0 -

I know what you mean, I've not found any maps which seem like they'll be good for sniping. It's all run 'n' gun.
Still it seems pretty good so far, but I've noticed that the quality of my mates voices through a headset isn't very good.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

currently taking a break before the old brain explodes, no real issues (on xbox) other than my usual crap connection speed.
Me like.Death or Glory- Just another Story0 -
Glad about the lack of sniping levels as snipers are gay!! What is it though with clans all sticking together in games like free for all, total bielends!0
-
I actually think there a few good sniping maps with good positions. Im much better sniping on this game than MW2.
I might improve even more when my BT Infinity Broadband is installed this afternoon.0 -
I also like the possibility (albeit remote) that the entire party can agree to switch off killcam - makes sniping from cover much more realistic IMHO."Get a bicycle. You won't regret it if you live"

I found campaign mode the easiest yet - biggest problem was working out what button to press on the helicopter jump. I find I'm already getting bored on multiplayer as the maps just seem too well suited for camping. It could just be that I haven't found my way around them properly yet but whereas I couldn't drag myself away from MW1 and 2 I find I can't be bothered to switch MW3 on!0
