Hi,

I'm looking to get an HD camera for the bike. I've had a look at the 'standard' which the GoPro and it looks great quality albeit a peculiar looking thing.

I'm more taken by the Contour range. However open to any other suggestions. My questions is this:

The contour range has a few variations. I don't need the GPS one as I already have a GPS, and there is a great deal on the one labelled with VholdR. I cannot work out what the difference between this one is and the non-VholdR one except a substantial cost increase. Anybody any ideas?

Thx
Ian

  • I have the standard 1080p Countour HD... superb camera.

    2 things though.

If you specifically want a helmet mount, get the Contour.
If you specifically want a chest mount, get the Go-Pro

VholdR is the company that makes the contour range, i had not seen one branded with VholdR until I just looked but there does not seem to be any difference.

    I have the ContourHD 1080P from http://www.amazon.co.uk/VholdR-ContourH ... B002QGSYZ4

all current models can be compared here.

  • Take a look at the Drift HD 170 however mine is called Eagle Eye Extreme HD which is identical but branded differently all the same spec as the Contour which is also a superb camera but this was a little cheaper as I got the package which included 2 batteries, all the mounts you need for Goggles, helmet and bike, in car charger, USB, TV cables SD card for £130 from Gadget Freaks delivered next day and have to say it's superb and tough.
