Genesis Core 50 vs Core 26.5?

Hello,
Trying to chose between these 2:
http://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/bikes/mou ... 26-5/specs
http://www.ukbikesdepot.com/m15b7s2p506 ... S_GB/13558
Can get the Core 50 for just over £900 and the Core 26.5 for £1200.
Main differences I can see are the 26.5 has an air fork rather than coil, but lower spec pretty much everywhere else (drivechain, brakes, wheels etc).
Worth the extra £300 for an air fork but lower overall spec?
Thanks.

Hello again.
Not meaning to be impatient but anyone have an opinion on these 2?0 -
Not really but I think the Recon is air as well. Reba is better though. Personally I'd spend the difference on pies.I don't do smileys.

I'd take the cheaper model. The 2012 Reba RL loses compression adjustment, so in many ways is no better than that Recon.0

Thanks guys.
The Recon is indeed a coil fork compared to the air on the Reba. Does this affect things?
Am I right in thinking that apart from the fork, the spec on last years bike is better?
Thanks.0 -
Sorry, I meant floodgate compression blow off adjustment.
Air is lighter and more adjustable, coil smoother.0 -
So air is preferable?
Am I right to think that the Alex wheels are a step down?
Also is this years Deore better than last years SLX?0 -
it depends on your prefererences - some like that adjustment to your weight, others prefer the simpler, more robust coils.
Very little in SLX and Deore now. SLX is a little lighter.0 -
Dam that was quick.
Thanks.
And the wheels? DT better than the Alex?0 -
Little in it again, the DT430 is a bit lighter.
I do think the older bike represents the best buy, is a good price.0 -
Thanks.
Bit bullet.
Shiny 50 on way to me now hopefully.
