I thought this would be a place to post about the extra clothing you needed to wear this morning to combat the cold/wind/rain. If you write a list then quote yourself later it will be easy to keep track. If the thread gets long it would be interesting to see when the layers come off again. Of course its a completely pointless waste of time but hey.

For example
Yesterday:
Combats
T-Shirt
Old battered hoodie
Trainers
Cycling Gloves
Wooly Hat

    In the rain:

    Campag bibs
    Rapha SS jersey
    Rapha modesty shorts
    Rapha knee warmers
Thin Gore arm warmers (came off after 15 mins)
    Long fingered Endura wind-proof gloves
    DHB R1 shoes
    Endura overshoes
    Cap
    Clear glasses

That's quite a lot of stuff! I would add that the Rapha stuff was from the sample sale (£80 for the three). Still, so much for saving moneys by cycling

It was about 8C when I left the house this morning, and my current commute is 21 miles, which I've found means I feel the cold much more than when I was just sprinting between sets of lights for 5 miles. I was wearing:

    Rapha winter hat
    Rapha merino neck collar
howies long sleeved merino base layer
    Rapha winter jersey
    DHB Aeron bib shorts
    Rapha winter tights
    Rapha merino socks
    Specialized cycling shoes
    Planet X overshoes
    Rapha winter gloves
