That is sweet for a winter bike, nice touch with the red cables.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

Well the commute is 21 miles each way 5 days a week so I need something comfortable and not much slower than the Sunday best.
However, if the Mrs asks then its a cheap aluminium frame.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Very very jealous. This is the bike I've been promising myself for a couple of years.
Can I ask if you took exact geometry measurements along to Justin or did he help out with sizing etc?
Seeing yours in the flesh has me checking my bank account0 -
I got measured up locally (Sigma Sport in Kingston) and sent the measurements off to Justin along with my additional requirements; 25mm tyres and mudguards. He sent back a design and we discussed toe overlap which prompted some changes. Then he offered tube shape option, I made my choices and that finalised the order.
Great, easy process and the service was excellent despite, to my shame, me calling him Jason on multiple emails.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Thanks for the response, it all seems dangerously easy.
Did you buy the frame alone and build it all up yourself?0 -
I bought the frame, fork, seat post clamp and headset Burls.
The shifters are scratched ones I replaced under insurance on my Scott CR1, the pedals and saddle came of an older frame I'm selling. Seat post and stem came from Spin Cycles (Ti specialists). Front mech is second hand, rear mech is ex-display, bars, bottle cage and crankset were new, but from ebay. Cables, guards, callipers and bar tape all brand new from Wiggle.
I put it together myself but theres a chap near me would would have done it for £100 and brought it back to me the next day.
Edit; with regards to measurements I should say that I had my sunday best bike set up according to my measurements from Sigma for around 4 months and rode about 3,500 miles in that time including several riders over a century so I had a good idea that the set-up was what I wanted.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

I may have said this elsewhere, but that is a thing of very great beauty. On my list of potential frames (along with Enigma) for my next bike...FCN 3 / 40

Not entirely sure I like the look of the curved seat stays, almost looks like someone a bit too lardy has been sat on the bike and bent them. Apart from that a lovely clean frame."Mummy Mummy, when will I grow up?"

Straight or curved seat stays are an option you can choose. I like the curves, I think the make it look a little more elegant but I wouldnt have been unhappy with straight ones.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX
