Stick with Manitou or change to Marzocchi

Right well im currently using factory fitted 100mm manitou blacks which are good but i keep bottoming out. So im thinking of changing to a bit longer travel bike specs say i can put upto 130mm travel.

i will be getting used as im a poor student and this is one of many hobbies.
now do i stick with the black and look at the 90-120mm version
or do i change to marzocchi ? i like the look of Z1 fr 130mm and if so which years are good as marzocchi have good and bad years dont they ?

What about Rockshox and Fox?

You can pick up second hand RS on ebay for not much money.

fox are too expensive ,
for rockshox i have no idea which is which and whats good and whats not there seems a lot about which a crazy price diff but i dont understand what makes one so much more than the other?

Increase the air pressure / change the spring to a firmer one.

I want more travel as i like the feel for the majority of riding and a harder spring would ruin that (i think)

i took your advice mancity and had a look at the rockshox
is there any better/worse models of U-turn?
