Just converted the commuter to fixed and have just give up on the goldie lookin chain that came with the day one as it was a pain to shorten for the 16 tooth.

So what does everyone recommend and which is the easiest chain to shorten?

it depends on the cog widths you have.

  • I bought a cheap one last time round and it developed stiff links very quickly (yes I do look after my chains). Worth spending a bit imho.

Likewise - I went for a SRAM PC7X which cost around £20. Noticeably quieter and smoother than the cheaper (£10) KMC chain that it replaced.
