With the multitude of versions that are described and the lack of much information on the RoxShox website..... Can anyone tell me whether the length quoted (380mm or 420mm) is the extended height or the retracted height?

Extended. Also worth taking a look at the new Giant hydraulic seatpost, a couple people I ride with have got them and they seem to be as good as the Reverb but £100 cheaper

Thanks Rockmonkey - I'll have a look at the Giant one too.

back to the Rock Shox - -the remote is handed - If you want to mount it underneath as some people do to avoid ttashing it if you fall off do you need to buy the opposite hand version?

You can mount it the other way, but bear in mind as its angled to your thumb, when running upside down you need to run it further inboard to avoid clashing with your shifters.

    + some other bikes.
  • I'm gonna need to get a dropper asap knowing me it'll be a reverb. Having a carbon frame I'm nervous of the constant opening and closing of the QR for the seatpost.

As its a scot with a 34.9 seatpost is there a preference on shims
