OK I give up... I need help. There seems to be millions of sizes out there.

I am looking for:

From the Commencial site:
HEADSET DIMENSION : 1 inch 1/8
HEADSET TYPE: integrated headset type campa 45°X45°

and from Cane Creek:
SHIS:IS42/28.6|IS42/30 (1-1/8" Italian Integrated IS Standard)

Currently have a Cane Creek which has got a bit wet - so it starting to lock. Could probably get away with just the bearings, but that's an even bigger minefield.

Happy to pay up to £50 if it keeps out the water better, but any recommendations (and links) most welcome.

It appears it's just the 'Italian IS Standard Headset) - but appear to be few and far between on Ebay - and they don't state the sizes (so can't be sure)

As it says - you have the Campagnolo Hiddenset standard.

Try to service what you have though first.

    replacement cartridge bearings

salvage and service the existing seals and races.

you mean cups (if present) the races are part of the bearing.

    but those are 36 X 45 NOT 45 X45 as required.

By races I mean the crown race and the stem race/bearing cover. There are no cups as such as the headset is an integrated jobby.

I'm assuming the headset required is the same as the one that was supplied with my meta, in which case those cartridges are the ones needed. the top bearing is a 45*45 and the lower is a 45*36. on the meta the use of 45*45 on the lower part will leave a gap between the fork crown and the underside of the headtube.

but the OP may find a definitive answer over at the commencal owners club.
