hi guys.
im looking to buy a spare set of wheels for my CUBE ACID 2011.
im not looking for anything to fancy as the spare set will be used for a commute with some skinny tyres etc. any suggestions?
ideally id love to order the wheels completely set up with casette and rotors ?
one thing im confused about though is that the cube is 10 spd and most wheels i have looked at (new and used) dont quote if they are 10 spd compatible. are 8/9/10 spd shimano cassetes all the same fitment?

Yes, the cassettes are the same fitment.
But spare wheels can cause problems - you may have to readjust the gears and brakes everytime you swap.0 -

i hadnt considered that. is that just down to slight differences between the wheels themselves ?Cube Acid 20110 -
Yeah, just slight difference in tolerances, or hub centering. Just half a mm can make a difference! You can shim a rotor out if using 6 bolt rotors to even them up.0

Sometimes it's just as quick to swap tyres.I don't do smileys.

Might not, but you don't know until you try, which is costly. I've got 2 sets, always meant to shim the rotors, but the Shimano brakes centre so easily. If I was still on Avids I'd be shimming! Cassettes are fine in my case.
How regularly are you changing? Swapping tyres would be far easier, but may be a little dull if it's every week!0 -
I guess commuting in the week and riding at the weekend, so it could be a pain is the ass to keep changing tyres...0

sorry for slow reply.
ye i am looking at commuting mostly in the week but have random days off so coul be alot of last minute tyre changes etc.
have decided to hold off on new wheels and just live with changing tyres and put the money towards buying a road bike next year to commuteCube Acid 20110 -
