at present i am looking at a claud butler bike on ebay.
The area it is being sold in is suspect but that doesnt mean it is stolen .
How can I tell if is stolen.

Moving on....
I thought that there might be an online database that owners of stolen bikes can add to if theirs goes missing.
Aside from searching for stolen claud butlers yourself I don't really see what else you could do. Perhaps contact the local police to see if any have been reported stolen?

Check the seller out. Does he look like a cyclist, has he other road bikes, does he describe the bike in cyclist terms, has he sold a lot of bikes on ebay, ask him if he wears a WC jersey on a club ride?Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?
