Flat Spot

Hi,
When I am riding down a smooth road I can feel a slight bump in a rythmic motion coming from the back wheel every second or so. When I put the bike on a stand and watch the back wheel go round it goes up and down. Does this mean I have got a Flat Spot? If so what is it and how can I fix it? The breaks dont seem to be effected.
Thanks

Double check that the tyre bead is mounted correctly onto the rim, it sounds like it might not be seated properly.0

I think you're referring to 'egging' where the wheel is no longer round. Technically, you cant create a flat spot without altering the shape so It'll be more like an egg.
You can tighten certain spokes to bring it back to shape though each will also affect the side to side. I'd take it to a shop with a good wheel builder.0
