Someone recommend me some nice padded warm spd shoes?

The time of year has come when i start riding the hard tail on the road to stay fit rather than wrecking my bike and getting plastered in mud. I suffered with numb feet, pins and needles and very cold feet last winter, this winter i want some warmer shoes. I did my 1st road ride of the year tonight, feet started going numb after about 90 minutes.

Anyone got any spd shoes they swear by that are warm & cosey?
Dont look at it-ride it! they are tools not f*cking ornaments

Not sure about shoes, but would it be better to get some Sealskinz water and windproof socks?

I bought a pair and they help a lot. Alternatively, get some water and windproof overshoes.

I've been investigating exactly the same thing and there's not really much option. Northwave or Shimano, both get good reviews and you can pick up the Shimano NW80's cheap as they've been updated with the NW81's.

I discounted buying overshoes for mountain biking as they'd get ripped to shreds when walking and i have a pair of Seal Skins which do a good job, but i need a new pair of shoes anyway so will probably go for the Shimanos.

Tough, long lasting and waterproof. Not the warmest winter boot but wear a warm woolen sock and they work fine down to well below zero.

I ve had two sets of Shimano Boots. I'm not convinced they are really worth the money. When my MW81's (??) wear out (i ve already found a hole in them) I think I'm going to get a larger pair of more relaxed summer shoes (as opposed to my SIDI's) and some sealskin socks. I think that will be just as good and much more useful all year round!

I ride offroad all (Scottish) weathers and have tried both sealskinz socks and MW80 boots. None have proven to be waterproof with the sealskinz particularly filling with water (running down legs).

So, now I ride with MW80 boots and merino wool socks... my feet still get wet but they stay warm and wet rather than freezing and wet...

I also get cold feet and have just got home from my first ride with seal skin socks & MT 500 overshoes and my feet were toasty
