Has anyone used these rims or know about them? they are XR4.2D race edition, 24 Hole from DT Swiss. Thinking about getting this wheelset but want to know a bit more about the strength of it etc. Plan to use them in cheviots for all day rides, some rocky, rooty parts but no major jumps/air etc. Also some use at trail centres now and again. Would people recommend these for this type of riding or will they just buckle/dent? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ... WHEELS.htm

Lightweight 24 hole XC race. All say to me might not be ideal for trail centres.

Be honest, are you a smooth rider? Or do you crash though stuff?

DT X4.2 rims are known as being a bit soft and dent prone compared to say Mavics XC717. They do stay straight if properly built but they are not a trail rim by any means.

I have 4.2d rims and ride them pretty hard. No problems to date, although mine do have 32 spokes.

    sun rims

they do the same rim in different widths

these and the mtx rims are too stiff for ht's if your riding long distance ... elID=26287

overall you want pinned rims with eyelets for max strength, and width counts!!
