can any one reccomend a helmet that has straps that can be easily removed and cleaned without needing an engineering degree to re-assemble?

To avoid smelly helmet I soak mine in bowl containing hot water and washing powder once a week.

Other tip giving to me but yet to try is to shower with the helmet after each ride.

As for original question if you find one let me know.

I misunderstood the title as well. Was going to suggest a nail brush in case of heavy build up.
In all seriousness I think straps that are easy to remove could be a bad thing as manufacturers have to consider the lowest common denominator when it comes to the punter refitting them. Could result in all sorts of litigation.
