I'm setting up a home bike workshop and I have a big set of spanners and want to reduce the set down to what I need and get rid of the ones I don't use the reason I'm doing this is because I'm tight for space

    You can probably narrow it down to an adjustable spanner, a socket set and a pedal spanner. Most things on bikes require allen keys anyway.
