New Frame

I'm after a new full suss frame for trail/AM use, I'm lookimg for 150mm/140mm of travel with a budget of around the £1000 mark. My favourite at the moment is the Santa Cruz Heckler, as it gets generally good reviews and I like the simplicity of the single pivot. Can you reccomend me another frame to fit my bill.

The Heckler is also a bargain. It is a little old fashioned in that it has no ISCG mounts of dropper cable routing or a tapered headtube which you would get on more expensive more recent designed bikes.
With your budget I'd go with the Heckler - cant lose.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
Sorry - you could consider the Nuke Proof Mega - has most of the things I say are missing from the Heckler! circa 800 quid at CRC.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0

Make way for loads of comments blah blah Santa Cruz, Yeti etc...because you see lots of them and they have never seen at Tomac in the flesh. Tomac are a niche brand with an excelent reputation....you won't be disapointed.0 -

How tall are you ?
I am 6ft 3 and ride a large with a layback
Geometery:
Tomac Top Tube 580 Giant 590, Head Angle the same at 67.5 and the seat angle is near the same along with chainstay length, and the wheel base is near the same (3cm longer on Giant)....the standover height is less on the Tomac by 5cm....so all in all very close so the medium would be fine.0 -

Pretty much that list. Although I'd also have a very good look at the Transition Bandit, the 130mm travel version, if you're going to put that fork on it. (I have the Revelation Coil on my Bandit, it's wonderful).Trail fun - Transition Bandit
Road - Wilier Izoard Centaur/Cube Agree C62 Disc
Allround - Cotic Solaris0 -
I'm 5'11/6ft0

Now where can I find a large Snyper in white??? CRC don't have one.0

CRC should be able to order you one in, Hotlines haven't got any either and as the distributor it may be worth given them or CRC a call. As the 2012 is launched they should be getting stock in. Proves White is the new Black !!0

Just been looking through the dimensions of bothe the tomac and my giant, I think the medium will be fine as the only difference is a 30mm shorter wheelbase and a 7mm shorter top tube. That should make for a slightly more chuckable ride. Do the frames come with a headset? As I'll be running a 1"1/8 fork so I'd need a reducer.0

Mine did, I have noticed that Peddlers have a 17" a hundred quid cheaper than CRC

Is that the new 2012 model though or is it an older one?0

The 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 are exactly the same...if you look at the pic against the CRC 2012 it's the same.
CRC aren't showing the 2012, the only difference is the Tomac logo on the downtube, so it wouldn't worry me.0
