Hi fellas......
I am replacing my Specialized Hardrock which is now 8 years old.
I have narrowed my choices down to Giant XTC3 /. Core Reaction / GT Zaskar
Am now a bit stuck between that trio!
I ride trails at Sherwood Pines and canal paths mainly. Will be doing coast to coast route next May so that needs to be borne in mind !
Budget is £1000
comments and advice welcome! Don't want to buy the wrong thing !

I nearly bought the XTC for the wife (decided a Talon will be better for a beginner). The shop also sell Cubes & they explained the difference between the Cube & the Giant as the Giant has a excellent frame with reasonable components & the cube has excellent components & a reasonable frame. I would put the frame before the components & go for the XTC.
GT Zasker did get a poor review in MBUK (or was it MBR?) recently.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Which models/year? Are a few Zaskars to choose from!0

This is the one for a grand. 2.5 out of 5 isn't good for a £1000 hardtail & the review reads like the writer doesn't really want to say too much bad about it but can't really think of anything good to say. A bike that was once great but hasn't kept up with the competition?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
It's too little for the money. Needs to be cheaper.0
