crank brothers opium wheel problem

i have the 2010 opium DH wheelset and while out riding there was a very loud metallic bang after which the rear hub would no longer engage. on first inspection the pawls and ratchet ring are intact and engage fully, the cassett body seems to be turning on its own without taking up on the pawls.
