Dawes Ambassador

Has anyone got any experience of the Dawes Abassador from the heritage range? I was looking to buy a Pompino frame from On One to put on my Trek Soho as the trek frame is far too small (it was to cheap not to buy!) but stumbled across the Dawes and thought it was a stunning looking bike for the money, is it a case of you get what you pay for? I know its a different beast to the Pompino but i just use it as a pub bike so i wont be doing any huge distances on it.
