Helmet advice

I have a Giro Havoc, remember them?!
Well it needs replacing as it is worn out and has undergone the odd prang.
I bought a SixSixOne Recon Wired online but the fit doesn't work on my bonce, I also thought it was a little bulky.
So it looks like I have a Giro head! The Xar looks and fits great but is pricey, the Xen is cheaper but it looks like it's too hot, maybe the Xar too for that matter, can anyone tell me if either these helmets are any good how they work with dispelling heat..??

Try them on and see. Shapes differ even between the same manufacturer.I don't do smileys.

i had to get a new helmet earlier this year after killing mine and myself in a big crash...
my advice with helmets is to go to your lbs and try before you buy...
i liked the look of the recon but when i tried it on it did not fit my head nor did urge or the 4-5 helmets i tried on...
in the end i got another giro xen..
it fits my head perfect i know they work very well as i tired and tested mine out (my old one that is) they are d not to hot they vent really well..
on hot sunny days my head does get a little sweaty in my zen but like i said it does vent quite well.....www.bearbackbiking.com

Tried a fox flux, Specialized (can't remember the name), and a hex. Went for the Hex in the end.
Comfortable and not too hot. (i find all helmets quite hot t.b.f.), but it is pretty well vented.

The xen...the most comfortable helmet I have owned with great airflow, not to hot in summer and not to cold in winter..CRC have an extra 10% off today making it £630

For a full face, go with the ixs phobos range, i got one from chainreactioncycles and love it. Hit a tree stump after coming off at about 15mph on an xc and it didnt even make it through the paint!0

Thanks for all your advice. Bought a Xen in the end.
Whilst my LSB is great and I would name drop them any time....

they don't really carry much clothing/protection so it it often threads like these that help me buy online. I had to go to an LSB about 20miles away to try the fit of a Xen, eventually bought from this LSB, although they were no local to me.
