Chichester to Mudeford - Route Suggestions

Hi...
I am heading from Chichester to Mudeford this Saturday to meet the family on holiday (I wanted to bring my bike and the wife suggested I ride there so I am not going to argue!) but I am struggling to find a decent route. The one I have mapped so far takes me via Havant, Fareham, Southampton Docks then into the New Forest.
Any one local to the Southampton area got any suggestions?
Cheers
Andrew.

You are going to want to go north out of Chichester and make quite a big detour - so you end up going close to the SDW, then down via Romsey , Under the M27 by Junction 1 and then down and across to Mudeford. The roads will be quieter.0

Hill head, Lymington, Beaulieu, down to Lepe Beach, up to Hythe and then get the ferry to Soton as the road is awful and the cyclepath worse. The ferry takes you to Town Quay - the docks are 1/2 a mile in either direction.
I thinks it's a 70 mile round trip - we did soton to Chichester in the height of summer. Sweaty.0
