Pimp my Ride.....

Ok, mebeez not my current ride as its on its last legs.
Recently got RIGHT back into biking following a finger injury(climbing) preventing me performing at a world class level :? :roll:
I ain't ridden seriously for 15 years, just pootled canal tracks etc but am now living in Hayfield(Peak) where the riding seems ace if bit harsh on the bits(bike). My current bike is a specialized rockhopper circa 2004. I've been gradually getting fitter & doing harder rides over the last few weeks & am seriously considering a newer/better bike. I want to 'notice' the difference & puzzled at all choice + the "full susp" vs hardtail thing.
I ain't that good/diligent at maintenance & I'm thinking full sus will have more of this....
I also don't want to build it myself just buy it already built.
I have always liked the RockHoppers ride.....I'm 5'11'' & currently on a 17" frame
I guess I want to spend as little as possible :roll: but want a better handling, faster, easier ride. I have older bones & am not really after full on tricks/freeride type bike, more a ride for shorter after work blasts to 3-4 hour endurance fests with techy bits interspersed.
Budget, I guess up £1500 tops but ideally less.
Suggestions please.......

Boardman
to name but a few, the list is endless tbh, try and narrow your search down to what travel you want, steel, ally frame etc.0 -
Ok my Budget has gone to £1600 & I need to decide on;
Longer travel forks or better components.
140 travel, 2lb heavier, better component spec;

Or...120 travel, 2lb lighter & better components;

The place I'm getting them from they are the same price.....
Thoughts again please?0 -

If your going to use it mainly on single track without any large drops etc I would go for the Camber as it is a quality spec for the money and a great trail bike.

You'll notice the difference riding a 29er!..and no rear shock, bearings etc to maintain and no front mech!
