hi guys i have found myself in a little dilemma, i went to my local bike shop the other day and was looking at last years rockhopper for £599, when in the corner i saw a small selection of used bikes there was a orange hardtail for £450 and a full sus giant xtc air (i think) for £450. now to be fair £500 is about my budget so after posting on here i decided that may be the voodooo hoodoo was the bike for me.

so my dilemma is do i go down the road of the voodoo or go for the second hand giant please bear in mind that this is my first bike and i am new to the sport is there a benefit to having one over the other i will be riding trails and fire roads etc as well as my local dh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PtC8NjE ... re=related

thanks in advance

Perhaps if you could post the spec of these options you will get more response.

Also on the 2nd hand MTB from shop - assuming you get some sort of guarantee / waranty?

i am sorry to be so vague i must admit i didnt think to ask lol sorry

is there a advantage to having the full sus compared to a htail

The full sus vs hatdtail is an endless debate amongst some - it can add comfort, traction and allow you to tackle harder terrain, but can be heavier, more prone to breaking, less efficient.
