And suddenly, she died...
Sudden Death

Wotcha,
Last Friday whilst cycling to work I noticed a scratch on my 2009 Specialized FSR XC Experts left hand chainstay. It turned out not to be a scratch! It was a hairline crack in the frame that went right down the inside (opposite the tyre) weld
I phoned my local Specialized Concept store and they told me to bring it over, they'll take a look...
What I first thought was a scratch turned out to be far more serious. They diagnosed the cracked frame and first thing Monday afternoon they contacted Specialized UK who asked for the frame to be returned to them and they'd despatch a replacement.
This morning at ten am I received a call to inform me that Specialized UK had sent an upgraded frame as a replacement. I'd gone from an FSR XC Expert to an FSR XC Pro! This benefits from a Fox Triad shock instead of my XFusion one.
I picked up the bike this afternoon, paid the labour cost, for the swapping over of components and took home a new bike. The frame is superb, and in what I believe is a unique colour (Navy Blue).
The whole thing has taken only three full (working) days from start to finish!
Well impressed with the after sales service from Certini Cycles at Saltash!!
Looking forward to going for a bedding in ride in the morning

Wotcha,
Here's a link to a picture of my frame.
Haven't been able to find one in this colour anywhere else...

Nice colour... It could be a US frame.. My Enduro Evo comes in a completely different colour scheme in the states.. looks like a sweet ride..0

Wotcha,
Two of my friends work for Certini's and I've become friendly with many more of the staff that work there too
I've found them incredibly helpful and despite the cost of £62.95 for the rebuild I couldn't ask for better service!
The frame is fantastic, totally different to the 'Satin Silver' colour I'd been expecting! There are several Specialized bikes around but I'd recommend both Specialized and Certini's to anyone who'll listenAnders

You paid Labour? Surely that would be covered by Specialized or am I missing something here?0

Does it not have a lifetime warranty on the frame? I wouldn't pay a penny for warranty work, thats the warranty's job!_____________________________________________

It depends if the shop that replaced the frame was the shop the owner bought the bike from. Warranties don't always cover for labour either. I do know that Specialized will reimburses shops the labour charge for swapping warranty components for bikes not from them upto 2 years old0

Wotcha,
According to the Owners, Specialized do not reimburse for the labour cost! I went from an FSR XC Expert to an FSR XC Pro. That, as far as Specialized are concerned, is it!
I also paid labour costs earlier in the year when my seventh black spoke died under the magical "Specialized Spoke fiasco of 2009 -2010".
Specialized agreed to replace all of the black standard spokes with DT Double butted silver spokes. Specialized paid for the spokes, I had to cover the costs of labour!
I pointed out I shouldn't be out of pocket because of a flawed frame, but they managed to turn the bike around in three days, so I didn't complain too muchAnders
