  • that is amazing! :D
  • What I don't get is why there isn't a massive crowd standing round watching that.

I can't even begin to start understanding that. Unless somebody on here can explain it to me like they would a five year old.

I just showed it to Mrs EKE and 3 of her female mates. No reaction.

Show them a kitten playing with a ball of wool though and they go crazy. I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Wimmin, eh?"

However supercold things do some very "cool" stuff. (pun not really intended).

SUch as flowing uphill, stopping light.

  • No. I understand the words individually but together they make no sense.

Anything to do with electrics will forever be a mystery to me. I'm comfortable with any that's mechanical but not this sort of black magic.

"any sufficenty advanced technology would appear like magic to us mere mortals"

Imagine the impact TV would have had in the middle ages it would have got you burned at the stake

I don't think there is any part of quantum theory that doesn't blow your mind.

Used to do very similar demos when I was at uni. Cool stuff. Was amazing the first time I saw liquid helium go superfluid.

Nothing to do with magnets, just a very small cat, some buttered toast & superglue.
