Road bike recommendations for 11yr old novice under £500?

Hi

I'm new to this forum and I'm sure the question may have been asked many times before but I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice on this. He's 142cm so I'm thinking 46/47cm frame? I've done some research and it seems the obvious choices are:

Moda (not sure which model)
Specialized Dolce
Trek Lexa
Isla (not sure which model)

i think dawes do a junior model. i think its called the espoiur (or similar)

Very simple two-stage process:

1. check the Islabikes size chart linked above.

2. Ring Islabikes and order the bike.

Luath 26 is good.
Small Trek 2.1 or 1.1 is good, too, but you'd be trying to get a discount on rrp, and watch out because the chain rings on most non-specialist kid bikes are too big (too hard on their knees at that tender age).

You could try ebay for somehing second hand like this:

One of my lad's has the Giant SCR 3.0 xs (he's 10) and other now 12 is on a small carrera vanqish we got off ebay for £180.
