But isn't that just a rather camp looking Frank Skinner on the left ?

Now that's what I call an ugly group of men! Musical geniuses or not...0 -
looks like they're targetting the pink pound0

That photo does look hilarious. Trouble is live music is the only way to earn decent money from the industry now. The Rolling Stones have always been mocked for constantly touring but looking back now at least they did it because they enjoyed it rather than reforming after many many years purely for cash.
Also, it's called a tour but so far it's 2 dates is it not?0 -
two dates announced, a world tour threatened, I mean promised0

Mixed feelings about this though, a great band from my youth , who I saw a few times, but not sure if i want to see them again or not.Suburban studs yodel better than anyone else0 -
I don't care what they look like - I'd rather listen to the 'Roses than a bunch of pretty-boy pre teens. I am the Resurrection is the bomb. I never saw them live but I'd go if I got the chance. Just close my eyes, try to block out Ian Brown's vocals and concentrate on the guitars!Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0

I liked them at the time, two great albums with the first being classed as one of the greatest debut albums, i saw them at the Ally Pally in 89, Spike island and Sheff Arena for the Second Coming.
i have my doubts whether the gigs will even take place, i'll get tickets but i've got a feeling that it's only going to shaft some great memories.0 -
They were cr@p first time around and so I don't hold out great hope (sorry to anyone who was a student and / or living in Manchester in the late 80s / early 90s ).0

I was ruminating the other day - to someone who didn't understand - that they were the band I would most like to have seen live but hadn't. Would be good butnot sure if it will just be a nostalgia trip or not and they are famed for being hot n cold live are they not? Have their albums in my car - never get removed and the 9m.53s version of Fools Gold.0

Great first album but unless he's had a lot of lessons since they split Ian Brown can't sing live for toffee.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

Get yourself a copy of his first solo album, as I have, and you will quickly find that he cannot sing when recorded either!!
Is solo stuff is absolute evidence that the same guy sho sung on Milli Vanilli tracks aslo RECORDED the Stone Roses albums, they only wheeled out Ian Brown for concerts because he looked the partCoach H. (Dont ask me for training advice - 'It's not about the bike')0 -
I'm quietly excited. Their debut is still my favourite album, but I can see why people who were either too old or too young (or indeed not yet born) in 1989 don't 'get' them.
I saw them live in 1995 (after Reni had left) and the old stuff was great, but the new stuff was mostly crap (an acoustic sit-down FFS?!).kop van de wedstrijd0 -
Voice? If you want vocals go and see Neil Diamond.
That era had squat to do with vocals, the youth of today would give their right arm for what was going on then, quality indie music mixing with the dance(acid house) scene, raves popping up everywhere which led to the resurgance of festivals, it was just a great time to be to be a round and enjoying life.
The late 80s to mid 90s won't be matched for a long time and the Stone Roses were a part of it, you're not going to bring the good times back with them reforming but it may give some a glimpse of what we had.0 -

What are you referring to here? I think you may be a little confused.
Personally I think they were brilliant and responsible for two of the best albums ever written by a British band.
Not sure about this though. This type of thing rarely goes well. Are they going to release a record? or are they just touring for the cash?
There'll be some fairly tragic throwbacks in the crowd at Heaton Park though but sadly not me.
@ the whole thing up for everyone.0 -

That's all it will be I think judging from what I've heard, people in their mid-thirties trying to snatch a few hours of their lives back. This news won't even register with the modern generation, the music industry has changed enormously in the last 20years.0 -

Yeah the first one was rubbish, but Music Of The Spheres was amazing though IMHO, don't let the first one put you off trying it, anyway it's not like you have to actually pay for albums these days (or so i hear )0 -

I was at Leeds T&C in '95, the one that the BBC recorded. Absolutely awesome gig, but listening to it now is half goose bumps, half cringe worthy.
Despite my initial scepticism at the news, they were good value at the press conference and it sounds like they actually might be doing it for the right reasons. Remains to be seen whether that's the case, but I don't fancy investing £55 and ten months of anticipation to be let down next summer.0 -

I'm referring to the fact that the gig i saw in Glasgow Barrowlands included a section where some of the Second Coming material was played while they sat on stools, and John Squire played an acoustic (or semi-acoustic, i forget).kop van de wedstrijd0 -
i tried for 2 hours this morning to get tickets, i finally got through was allocated 3 tickets then when it came to give payment details was told sold out
bad timesKeeping it classy since '830 -
You are not on your own mate,
there are a lot of us going without, i am waiting for a world tour or when coldplay tour again0 -
Id love to see them just to say "i have". First album is still in my Top 10 of all time. My buddy went to see them at Spike Island back in the day and ive always been envious. I was invited to go but had no money being a poor student
Mani and Squire are awesome and i rekon they would be great live. Just a shame about Ian Brown!0
