Hi

I am thinking about getting a single speed for my winter trainer/hack to work bike. I would also like to use it on a turbo trainer, however what ones are suitable to be used with the single speed as they dont have QR levers ? i assume most trainers are built to accept them instead of the bolts a single speed would have ?

Dont want anything too fancy regarding a turbo trainer, just something i can jump on and ride, most probably magnetic resistance over anything else

regards

Neil

  • A single speed is also narrower at the rear isn't it? I know my track bike is...

I managed to actually put my turbo skewer through the bolts that hold the wheel in place - and strap it to the turbo that way.

My fixed wheel goes fine on my cateye cyclosimulator thing. The locking nuts hold it in place just fine - I'd think most would ?

I believe you can buy these outrageously priced nuts if you need to:
