Replacing langster

Hi
I spend upto 5months and all communting on the langster and run it with full guards (forks replaced already).
I am fed up fiddling with chain tension, rear brake alignment and mudguard position in the attempt to stop something either not working well or rubbing.
So I am looking for the same rigid feeling bike, with just a little more clearance at the back. Compact geometry if possible.
Any suggestions please?

I ride a Boardman Sc single speeder as my winter bike/ commuter. It is very light (8kg out of the box) and stiff enough for me. It happily takes 28mm tyres front and rear and still has clearance for full SKS mudguards. Only downside was the cr%p Conti tyres it came with and a bit of buzz through the bars which I cured by double wrapping them. After two winters it's never let me down but you need to keep on top of things like bolts and nuts which can start to corrode. Oh and one last thing is as it comes from Halfords there wasn't a smear of grease or oil on it so I had to strip it and sort that.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

I run a On One pompino with 35mm Scwalbe advancer tyres, great bike with great clearance for sks p45 mudguards, you can buy it as a frame forks package so you can swap over the bits from the langster. The bike runs canti brakes which are great with mudguards0
