Trek Ion 2012 Cyclocross bike - buying advice

Hi there,
Enjoying the cx season and need some help with choosing a new bike. Does anyone have any thoughts on the new Trek Ion cx bike? This is the Aluminium version not the carbon one, and comes with SRAM. It looks quite pricey compared to other known cx brands such as Cannondale, but I love the look of it and coming from the world of Gary Fisher should ride well.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
