Thinking of getting one as i cant afford a Garmin 800. Can anyone vouch for these units and know of anyone else who uses one?

They are pretty good really. The main irritation most people have is that currently you can only use Navteq maps if you want hi res - you get one of these for free to cover your country but additionals cost more.
For reasons I won't go into, I don't actually have the high res map on my unit though and I've been doing fine though with the base map but I don't yet know what I've been missing!
The displays are highly customisable and really it works well.
I think my ideal unit would be a Garmin 800 with buttons - don't like smeary screens so touch sensor has little appeal. The Bryton 50 is a little bulky but I think no more so than the pre 800 Garmin units.

I too am thinking of getting one of these. From what I've seen there isn't any benefit to getting a Garmin 800, or is there?0

Other than the touch screen there`s very little difference in spec. The garmin seems to have a better website but from all the reviews it seems a real bargain.0

The benefits to garmins is all about the web IMO. The Bryton sport website is a bit clunky but useable, whereas the garmin site is lovely and you can auto sync with ridewithgps and strava. Looks like strava are working on bryton compatability though so hopefully that will sove half of the problem.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Got one, it works, some quirks to learn... a better buy IMO.0

I've just been on the Bryton wbsite from my work PC, turns out it's my netbook that makes the Bryton site look horrendous so it's not actually that much of a problem.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame
