Raleigh TC30 bottom bracket replacement

Would like to replace the bottom bracket, which has an internal bearing with an external type bearing in order to fiit new chainring set and cassette combo. Is it possible to do this? I'm a novice at this and probably gone a step too far :shock:

yes but you will need to get the BB shell faced. LBS time.

Do you know if an octalink type would fit?

Octalink is not an external bottom bracket type.
